Sold for $316.25. Seems rather cheap for a real Hunzinger but condition and aesthetics likely played a major role here. These are the days when many top tier maker Victorian pieces are not bringing the kind of money they did a few years ago. Its a great time for collectors and investors. A lot depends on the auction venue as well...Christies, Sothebys, Butterfield's as well as Neals in New Orleans all seem to be bringing in top dollars lately but sophisticated buyers are picky and want the best of the best. e-Bay prices for good Victorian pieces also seem to be holding steady or even trending higher in recent months. Still, as mentioned, there are bargains out there like this Hunzinger example demonstrates. Thanks for sharing.
