The Jelliff "Cathedra"
« on: January 30, 2008, 05:30:20 PM »

John Jelliff's most magnificent piece of work was actually a 20 foot throne chair for St. Patrick's Church in Newark.  The chair extends outward 6 feet and tops out at the pinnacle at 25 feet and is made of black walnut.  It was built at a cost of $1,000.

Picture and story here

Note: "Cathedra" is the Latin word for chair
