Old House Dreamer Website - Nice homes, many pictures, nicely laid out
« on: February 02, 2010, 10:02:48 PM »

Here is a website many RV readers would enjoy. It's called Old House Dreamer. Run by a lady that loves old houses - she searches real estate listings from around the country and posts the ones that appeal to her.

Lots of great pictures, gives you and idea of what's available and at what cost - great if your hunting for an old home or are just curious. Nicely designed and laid out - can search/ sort by a couple well known architects (Frank Loyd Wright, George Barber, or Sears kit homes), date of home, or style of home, or by state. Nice representation of Victorians.

This link should take you to the home page which shows listings chronologically - from most recent to oldest.
http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/old-house-dreamer - categories are listed to the right. Click on the address shown, it is often a live link that will take you to the actual listing w/ more info and pics about the home. Click on the Victorian Homes (1850 - 1899 Category): If you scroll down a few houses you'll see a 26,000 SF home in Boston for $23 Million - very impressive woodwork! Nice conservatory, gorgeous home. The next home is a Queen Anne in CA - lots of Bradbuy & Bradbury paper - even a Meeks Parlor set , nice Walnut bed, Nice sideboard used in the bath as a vanity. Great site to kill time on - enjoy it!   woodwright
