$1.2 million for Tiffany Dinner Service
« on: June 29, 2008, 02:58:21 PM »

This is off-topic but I ran into this eye-popping auction result for dinner service.  $1.2 million for plates, forks, knives....

You'd have to frisk your guests as they leave the dinner party.

lol, thats ok, i am off topic most of the time as i dont collect victorian furniture anymore. I notice it's an 18 carat gold dinner service with each piece listed in grams but it doesnt
total the weight for scrap value. Another thing i noticed is it was owned by a judge, whats a govt. official doing with a gold dinner service? Maybe he was from a wealthy family?
