I have several pieces that I'd like to try to attribute, but I'm going to start with my fancy little chair since I'm about to put some money into it. Luckily I have furniture restorers in my family that I can trust to take care of it :D
Any help is appreciated!

Well, it could fall into the broad rubric of "Jelliff type" based on all those quirky details (the legs, for example) but in the long run attributions are beside the point--you've managed to find a funky parlor chair of the 1870s with its original upholstery intact (although rather the worse for wear). Your big investment will be in the upholstery, because that was originally the major impact of this piece in a parlor...choose your fabric and your upholsterer carefully. Don't over-restore the woodwork, because that's the original (grimy) finish...
Thank you for your reply Dietzberger. I intend to have the chair reupholstered properly. As for the wood, there are several places that need to be reglued, and I think that will be done with the upholstery. One thing I can tell you is I adore my little chair.
