Can anyone help me identify a carving in my fireplace mantel in my 1908 Victorian bungalow in Charlotte NC ? I don't have a picture but the description is that it appears to be an insect with the face of a man. Vines with leaves extend from the body. If this sounds familiar to anyone please let me know because it is creeping me out a bit. Thanks!
