I have recently found that my great-great-great grandfather was an apprentice to John Jelliff in 1844. I have a copy of his apprenticeship contract between him and John Jelliff. Does anyone know if John Jelliff has any ancestors?

The 1870 census gives his value of real estate at $50,000 and his personal estate at $25,000.  A daughter Harriet is 23, a daughter Ida is 20 and a daughter Annie is 15.

The 1890 census burned in a fire...it is hard to track daughters, especially if they married and had a name change.  It would take some work to continue the search...
