A rather ugly parlor set in my humble opinion. I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder...

This parlor set reminds me of that glorious day when the English lexicon first welcomed the colloquial progeny resulting from the unholy union between the letter 'f' and the word 'ugly'. Indeed, that marriage was undoubtedly consummated on just such a collection of kindling.
Man, these sets are selling for scary numbers. I'm getting out of the authentic American Victorian business.

Ain't that the truth! I have watched this type of stuff for years go for next to nothing at local auctions--of course, I had no interest since I collect the "real" thing, but now, I might have to re-evaluate! Charles.
