can you tell m what this is..i know its a table that turns into a chair its a large heavy item,,,the top of the table is one piece...on the front of the chair there is a carving...and the legs are carved with spindels ...can anyone tell me what it might be or what it may be…

Hi, its a "hutch/table", popular during the american colonial period. They are not very popular with collectors these days as period examples often sell for a few hundred up to a thousand or so.

Although it's difficult to tell from those photos, to me this piece of furniture looks to be modern and not an antique.  Perhaps from the 1960's.  This piece mixes several different styles -- colonial, empire and rococo.  You would not expect to see the rococo appliqué on a piece with such simple turned legs or a colonial piece of furniture.  The turnings and radiuses do not "look right" to be an antique.  Maybe some clearer photos that show more detail and the underside would help.  My gut feeling is this is a $100 piece of furniture.

yeah, agrees with hardwood, posters piece is not period but even if it was, collectors dont favor these type pieces in modern settings.
