Your marbletop dresser, washstand and half commode (bedside cabinet for a chamber pot) are of the Late Classicism period 1835 - 1850 (sometimes incorrectly referred to as Empire furniture). They are Mahogany w/ crotch Mahogany veneered drawer fronts & door panels. I believe the dresser & washstand look like they are part of a set - both have the split applied spool turnings framing the front around the doors/ drawers. I can't see the details too well to see if they are identical details or not, nor can I see the base of the washstand to see if it has bracketed feet w/ beading like the dresser. They should be the same if they are of the same set.
The half commode (also Mahogany w/ crotch Mahogany veneer) looks to be of a different set - no split applied spool turnings, has serpentine door & drawer, different base & corners are angled w/ applied split drops & finials. The drawer front joint on the half commode is unusual - it as a half blind finger joint (not angled like a half blind dovetail is -which is the normal joint used for a drawer front). Hope this info is helpful.  woodwright
Woodwright,
thank you so much, eye surgery Wed so slow reply. The dresser and washstand do both have split applied spool turnings( news to me ). Unfornately my father removed the bracketed feet feet with beading on the washstand prior to my birth in 1947. I am sure this diminishes it's value.
Are these pieces unique enough for interest by either a museum or individual ? Last in the family line and would like to find in the future a suitable placement. I live in NC outside of Charlotte, not a hotbed of antique interest. Any suggestions?

Leslie, Your furniture is nice and yes it does have value and would be saleable. Although this era furniture is not as highly sought or valuable as some other eras' (ie: Early American, Art Deco or even Rococo or Renaissance Revival). Yes, altering the base of the washstand would have an impact on it's value. I can't see the base or how well the alteration was done or the overall condition or even the condition of the finish from the pictures. It looks like the silver of the dresser mirror may have some issues and need to be re silvered. If the finish & overall condition is good - I would estimate the 3 pieces collectively to be worth approximately $1,500 - depending on your local market. They are not rare pieces, don't all match and the base has been altered on the washstand - probably not something most museums would have much interest in (unless there was some historical significance to them - ie owned by someone notable, etc). Try www.craigslist.org (deals with local buyers and it's completely free to sell or buy) or www.ebay.com (but large/ heavy items are expensive and hard to ship - so you'll probably have to find a local buyer and Ebay does have fees to sell items) - or try your local classified ads, antiques dealers or auctions. Good luck w/ them.  woodwright
Woodwright,
Again your imput has been very helpful, thank you so much. As I do not appreciate antiques these pieces have been placed in a guest house until a decision can be made.
