Hello...
Yesterday, while searching the rarevictorian site, I came across a link that appeared to picture a suite of furniture, of which I own a chair (1). http://www.rbantiques.com/furniture.htm LT # BF3089. When I purchased the furniture, I was led to understand by a dealer that it came from the Billy Green Estate a hero of the War of 1812 in Canada http://www.galafilm.com/1812/e/people/green_scout.html
In any case, perhaps I have solved the origins of the corner chair, Italian perhaps...any ideas about the period? I love this chair and I hope to put it with the "Belter" suite of 4 pieces.
Many Thanks for any ideas...Sunnyp7

A chair like yours popped up on Ebay here.
They assert that the chair is German or Italian and I tend to agree with them that it is European. I also agree that it is late 19th century Renaissance Revival.

Thank you for the response about the corner chair and confirming that it is likely European from the Renaissance Revival period. I really love this chair and the story that came with it about Billy Green.
