Just wanted to share a few pics of a transitional gothic / rococo melodeon...I love finding pieces that represent the evolution of the design revival movements...exhibited here by the blending of gothic trefoil cut-outs with rococo music holder and case...the silver label…

Just wanted to share a few pics of a transitional gothic / rococo melodeon...I love finding pieces that represent the evolution of the design revival movements...exhibited here by the blending of gothic trefoil cut-outs with rococo music holder and case...the silver label above the ivory keys is engraved "Mac Nutt Philadelphia" - does anyone know if this was the maker and/or retailer?  Tks, Mark

I just did a quick lookup, and the 1870 Federal Census lists a "Asiah Mac Nutt," age 46, "Piano Manuf." in Philadelphia.
