Again, all apologies for a post here about a single piece of furniture, but if there are any folks out there who have a collection of rolled items (maps, ship plans <ahem>, etc), then this might be the item that you never knew you needed. It appears to be a Victorian storage rack for maps...looks to me to be from the 1870s or 1880s and is about the size of a parlor table. The price, currently at over $30, seems somewhat laughable if you have a use for such a thing. It is kinda-sorta hidden on ebay...see below.

The dimensions do suggest it is something other than a sheet music holder that you commonly see. Since it came from a courthouse, I wonder what they'd do with a bunch of maps and required a special holder at the ready with said maps?
