I'm posting pictures from Barry Friedman of a great rocker that he has and is trying to identify.  It seems to have Merklen elements to it - most specifically the spiral balls in the legs.  See them on a Merklen table herehttp://www.southamptonantiques.com/lt/lt-1095.html.  Maybe others have opinions as well.  Not sure if Barry wants to sell it or is just trying to get more info.

This is definitely a Merklen Brothers rocker.  The seat design, stretcher proportions and design, tapered spiral legs are all signature elements of the Merklen Brothers rocker designs.  See my article on the Merklens in the May 2005 Magazine Antiques.
