If no one has a I.D. on this chair, that's O.K.
But can someone tell me what era, and style it is ?
Also if the top is a painted turtle shell finish ?
Would it be better to strip all the finish off or clean it up and leave the
old finish on it ?
??? I don't really know if it is worth fixing up or not.

Hey Loree,
Your chair is very unusual and quite frankly I have no idea what it is. It’s definately old and looks Victorian. I cannot even guess whether it is European or American. If you love it, I say restore it, but it may turn into something where the work to bring it up to where you would like it to look would be very costly. Weigh up the plusses and minuses and think of perhaps investing in a chair that is in good condition, you would be surprised how many nice ones are out there! :)

Thank You for the reply.
You did make me LOL about not knowing what it is.
Thanks again Loree

Loree,
I agree with Karma if this is something you really like and want to restore it then I say go
for it after weighing out the pros and cons. I know that I have had a few pieces and it
was quite costly but to me it was well worth it.

Thank you for your reply. The chair or chairs, because I have two of them belonged to my grandparents. So I would like to restore them. They are very
different and I like them.
Thank you all for your replies
