Hello,
I'm director of a sheet music library and we've recently received this shelf as a donation. The donor tells me it's Victorian and is intended to be used for storing music. I don't know if this is accurate. It's missing one spindle on the bottom shelf, but other than that is in great condition. I'm curious to see if anyone can give me any information about it and whether it would be worth an appraisal. I'd very much appreciate any input. Thanks.
I would like help identifying a piece.

Yes, your Victorian stand (AKA Canterbury) is for sheet music; the top section would have been for loose sheets and the bottom vertical areas were for books of sheet music. The hollowed spirals are particularly of interest to me since I collect Merklen Brothers pieces and those resemble some of their work. I won't go so far to say it is by them, however, yet.
Thank you. That's very helpful.
