Hi everyone!
First of all, I would like to express my appreciation for this site - it's just the best! I visit it almost every day. Hopefully someday, I'll have enough knowledge to contribute instead of asking the questions. :)
Okay, so here's my find - I bought three of these chairs at a local flea market for about $40 each. I thought they were nice looking and well made. I believe the finish to be original as well as the caning. When I got them home and looked them over, each chair has the same stamp on the underside: "W. Rothe." The last photo shows this stamp/impression, but it was hard getting a really clear picture. I have tried researching that name and, so far, have not had any luck. Also, I thought the shield design in the top rail was interesting. Anyway, just thought I would see if anyone knows anything about these chairs. Thanks so much!
