Your pictures are showing up fine. :)
You do have a washstand. It appears to be of oak, but it could also be of chestnut, hickory, ash, or elm, which are very similar in appearance. From the photographs it seems likely to have been refinished at some point. I would hesitate to date it with more specificity than a broad "circa 1900;" oak furniture became popular around 1890 and remained so through the first decades of the 20th century.
Unless the washstand bears a mark or label, or is accompanied by an original bill of sale, it would be next to impossible to attribute such a piece to a specific manufacturer or retailer.
Thank you very much, that is very helpful. I just purchased the piece, and haven't received it yet. When I get it I'll look for any identifying marks or details.
P.S. I was told that it was oak.
